This is my personal page that will in due course hold anything to do
with my hobbies and general interests (Squash and Croquet mainly at present),
although there is still some of that material in my "work"
page.
My daughter Sarah-Jayne has her own home page.. I play croquet at Bowdon, having played seriously since late 1996. It is a great game, but quite time-consuming. My other leisure interest is squash. I have software that takes a list of tournament entries by age or other grouping (in ranking order as near as you can get), together with a few minor details like the name of the tournament, the dates of play, the number of courts available when, etc, then at the touch of a button it generates the complete draw and schedules all matches. It also generates sticky labels giving the first time on court for each player. During the tournament, results are entered as they become available, and are used to update the draw to automatically produce result sheets in Web page format. Provided you also have a printer available, sticky labels are produced to go onto the blank score sheets, and to go onto "post-its" for putting up on an "On-court", "Next-on-court", "Stand-by" board. It works well and has been used for a number of Junior Tournaments and also for Graded Tournaments. You can configure the target gap between matches separately for each age group, so if you really want SRA 3hr gaps, you can have them, but if you prefer something shorter, you have the option. If anyone would like to use the system, please let me know. I call the software "Tournament Director". |
